The AHAQ committee are responsible for organising and running the flagship Challenge show as well as smaller events and functions to showcase the Arabian breed. Committee members have love, dedication and passion for the Arabian breed and devote a large part of their life to Arabian ownership, breeding and competition.
President: Cate Cunningham
My addiction to Arabians began in 2013 when I bought a half Arabian palomino for my husband. We now have 20! My love for the breed and watching them grow and develop into adults is a privilege.
My greatest wish is to help the Arabian industry grow in Qld through promotion, education and hosting of shows, with a focus on youth and those new to the Arabian industry.
Fun fact about Cate: I am from Scotland – I spent the majority of my adult life working with flying doctors, child flight and careflight. So I can happily apply a band-aid if you need one!
Vice President: Shannon Parry
I have spent the majority of my life living and breathing Arabian Horses. I have been lucky enough to have some of the best of them in my stables over the years. I have competed in all disciplines with my Arabians and while not riding much these days I can be still be found out judging or helping at events.
Fun fact about Shannon: I love renovating houses and building beautiful gardens if you can keep me out of the stables long enough.
Treasurer: Hollie Webster
I have been involved with Arabians for 32 years, starting on the Northern Rivers of NSW with Laurence and Verna Brinsmead when I first left school. I have recently sat and passed my judges entrance exam so look forward to a new chapter with that.
I showed the purebred stallion Eviron Excalibur under saddle with great pride, he was by Domanixy and a true gentleman. I have had success with my own ridden horses, Shadow Song by Shadowy Night, Everon Park Batahl by Domanixy, Ellabrae Debonair, partbred Arabian by Trincada Strike, now proudly owned by the Fedrick family, Artistry MI and most recently Balmoral MI.
Balmoral and Princeton MI have taken me into the purebred halter ring and I’m really enjoying watching my horses strut their stuff!
I served on the AHAQ committee previously and look forward to working with a new committee who are focused on promoting our beautiful Arabians, providing shows and events to showcase how amazing they are.
